Thanks to the expansion, the exhibition of the Gdynia Aquarium has been expanded by 12 new tanks with a total capacity of 450,000. liters.
An exhibition was created that presents the fauna and flora of cold seas.
Ultimately, as many as 1,300 animals will live in the new tanks of the Gdynia Aquarium. These are over 30 species that will be available to see in the new zoo space from April 20.
They were inhabited by crustaceans and bony and cartilaginous fish. The unique residents are jellyfish - Chrysaora quinquecirrha - the only representatives of this species in Poland, which were bred and are successfully reproduced by aquarists from the Gdynia Aquarium. Visitors will be able to admire the behavior of schooling fish, toothed fish and sharks that inhabit areas of cold seas. The entire exhibition presents the fauna of the cold part of the Atlantic Ocean, including the North Sea, the Danish Straits and the Baltic Sea - adds Grażyna Niedoszytko.
